With recipes that remain unaltered over time, queues form outside the Kypseli dairy and confectionery in Volos on Saturday mornings, as I saw with my own eyes. And the reason is the "barbato" galaktoboureko, the cream, and the legendary Volos-style baked pasta.

You won't find such a custard pie anywhere else made only with pure butter, ravani, baklava, and samali with mastic. Their cream and rice pudding, when you catch them warm, bring tears to your eyes.
